Best Part of Job

I love meeting such diverse personalities and forming lasting friendships. I especially love to create for them the haven that we all need these days.

Describe your style or design preferences

Any style of Interior can be done beautifully with the right products and attention to detail. I love that tone month that we work on a fun Hampton Beach house design and the next we are doing Country French on a traditional two story estate. Ware are happy to small magical makeovers as well. I let most jobs be client driven- My personal favorite style is clean line upholstery mixed with simple antiques, contemporary and traditional original paintings and Persian rugs. Of course global awareness in the finishing touches for sophistication.

Favorite Compliment

Tears of joy from a client as they walked into their turnkey home as they exclaimed that the look was beyond their expectations and the prettiest home they have ever had. We love a champagne walk thru!

My Inspiration

I utilize the beautiful pallet of nature from my surroundings in my design work.

What Always works?

A comfortable, eclectic mix of texture, form and materials that calm and excite at the same time. For example neutral clean line upholstery with a mix of Asian antiques, Hand Knotted rugs, contemporary, traditional art and accessories to finish it beautifully.

What separates you from your competition?

Barefoot to Black tie-That’s the versatility of a Barkley design. Men and women alike comment that our designs make them want to stay and linger in our rooms-move in just the way it is. Stylish but comfortable to suit them and their family

Who has had the biggest influence in my life?

Pat Murphy, Marie Rosenthal and Wendy Marber, my high school teachers who treated me like an adult and excited me about the arts. Also, my husband Von for pushing me confidently towards new goals and supporting the efforts every step.
